Dr. Warren Brown, BSc (Maths/Applied Maths/Eco), MBA, PhD

After his undergraduate studies in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Economics, Warren completed an MBA from The University of Manchester and a PhD from the University of Stellenbosch.

His investment career started in 1987 as an economic analyst. He spent time as a trader and researcher in the equity, derivatives, bond- and money market asset classes before managing fixed income portfolios. Warren subsequently managed an equity unit trust and segregated institutional portfolios. He has had various leadership positions in a multi-manager and asset consulting businesses.

Warren lectures economics, finance and risk management courses to post graduates in the School of Business and Finance at UWC and Stellenbosch University’s Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science.

Warren brings to the Committee an independent research-driven investment management perspective focusing on the intersection of financial theory and practical application.
